POLICE were called out to two separate incidents in Wick over the weekend, although there have been no arrests yet.

On Saturday (May 4) officers were called to a disturbance in the Back Bridge Street area of the town around 7.50pm. The incident was not ongoing when the police arrived, and enquiries are being made to establish the full circumstances.

A source said the disturbance was due to a fight occurring outside Harper's Bar and Function Suite involving several people.

On Sunday night (May 5) a car being driven along the town's Harbour Quay went out of control and smashed into another vehicle parked just outside Wicker's World café . The popular eatery was closed at the time and no damage done to the exterior despite one of the vehicles being shunted onto the pavement just inches from the front door.

"Both vehicles involved in the collision were badly damaged and left the road blocked. Two men wearing dark clothing were seen to leave in the direction of Saltoun Street following the collision."
