Police appeal after careless driver forces lorry off the road on A836 near Melvich

Police Scotland are appealing for information after an incident of careless driving which saw a lorry coming off the road to avoid a collision near Melvich.

On Tuesday, May 28 at 7.30am police were made aware of a lorry driving in a careless manner on the A836 from Melvich towards Thurso

This caused another oncoming lorry to be forced off the road.

A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “Thankfully nobody was injured.

“The offending lorry then continued in the direction of Thurso. The offending lorry is described as a blue log carrier heavy goods vehicle.”

Anyone who was in the area at the time or could provide dashcam footage or other information is asked to get in touch with Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference PS-20240528-0531 or anonymously via crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
