Pipes and guitar to lead at Wick concert
Gems of Scottish musical history and tradition are promised at a concert to be held in Wick’s Mackay’s Hotel next month.
Donald WG Linday and Alasdair Roberts will perform on pipes and guitar at the September 7 gig, showcasing their instruments and voices on a wide range of tunes and songs.

With the concert billed as a celebration of 30 years of music and friendship between the pair the pipe tunes will showcase a diverse range of influences, from Scots fiddle tunes to Hungarian and Romanian airs as well as classic and contemporary Highland piping and Lowland, Border and Northumbrian tunes.
The songs, meanwhile, will range from variants of traditional ballads to songs from the Scots lyrical tradition and contemporary songs written by both Alasdair and Donald.
The concert is set to start at 7.30pm on the night.
