PICTURES: Wizards, fairies and more - Caithness school children dress up for World Book Day

Schools across Caithness welcomed a wide assortment of colourful characters today for World Book Day.

Everything from superheroes and pop stars, to fairies and wizards came out to play, bringing to life the creations of authors from JK Rowling to Beatrix Potter to David Walliams and many more.

Earlier today we asked readers of the Groat to share photographs of some of their children’s costumes celebrating the day.

Here are some of the amazing outfits that were on display.
