PICTURES: Doggy delights at Caithness Show with quality canines judged

Tails were wagging and noses sniffing as a mix of all shapes and sizes of dogs came together to be judged at the Caithness Show on Saturday.

Conditions on the day were fair as numerous owners and their beloved pets took the challenge of being assessed by dog show judge Laura Swanson.

Organiser, Donna Mackay said: “Another good entry of dogs again this year – 64 dogs making an overall entry of 167. This is slightly down on last year. However, all classes were well supported with entries topping 24 in two classes and 32 in another.

She added: “There were three breeds we haven’t seen at the show before – the Russian black terrier which was Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show, We also had two Pyrenean Mountain Dogs and a Beauceron.”

She sent a big “thank you” to Mrs Swanson for judging the dogs and “getting through a quality entry with some difficult decisions in many of the classes”. She also thanked the exhibitors for their continued support.

Also at the event, as a spectator, was Bonnie the deerhound who had been recently featured on the cover of fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar.
