A Highland mental health charity is recruiting for people with lived experience of mental ill health to train to become peer supporters.

Birchwood Highland, which provides a range of support services throughout the Highlands and runs a residential recovery centre in Inverness, will provide 30 hours of free training and mentorship using a combination of online platforms and face-to-face sessions.

No formal education or specific employment or volunteer experience is required.

Birchwood Highland is appealing to those in Inverness and Caithness who have lived experience of mental health or substance abuse and a desire to help others through their recovery journey to apply.

The course will start in April and there is the opportunity of future work with Birchwood as sessional peer supporters.

Those interested should apply to COMMS@birchwoodhighland.org.uk or call 01463 236507.
