PENNYLAND’s 50th anniversary has arrived. We, primary seven, are extremely excited to be writing to tell you about our plans for an open evening on September 28. Pupils, parents, ex-pupils, ex-staff and members of the community are welcome to come and join us to celebrate this wonderful occasion. On the night, you will be able to come into the school and visit all of the classrooms and have a look at some old photographs.

All of the pupils in the school have been working hard and will be making sure that their classrooms have some lovely displays for you to admire. Both P1 classes have been doing a topic called ‘Our School’ and thinking about what the school is currently like. P2 are learning about people who help us in school and they are going to be designing commemorative plates.

P3 are comparing 1960s schools to now while P4 are learning about the ’80s; P5 the ’60s; P6, the ’70s; and P7 the ’90s up to the current day. Head teacher Morna O’Hagan said: "I hope we have a very successful evening and that many past and present pupils, staff and friends of the school come along."

If you would like to have a flashback to the past then come along to Pennyland’s 50th anniversary celebrations on September 28, starting at 7pm.
