Highlands see 17,000 baby boxes delivered to families across the region

New figures show that over 17,000 baby boxes have been delivered across NHS Highland since the scheme was introduced in 2017.

In Scotland, every newborn is entitled to a box containing essential items such as clothes, thermometers, towels and books to ensure every child has the best possible start in life.

In total almost 347,000 boxes have now been distributed to parents across Scotland since the projects inception.

Caithness, Sutherland and Ross MSP Maree Todd commented: “The baby box is part of the SNP’s offering to support new families. With initiatives like these, Scotland is by far the best part of the UK to start a family.”
