Caithness Voluntary Group (CVG) will be hosting a special Volunteer Fayre in Wick on Wednesday, May 4 at the Pulteneytown Peoples Project from 10.30am until 2pm.

Catherine Paterson, CVG volunteer development officer, will have information about many of the organisations looking to recruit volunteers and can signpost individuals to local groups.

She said: "This is an opportunity for the public to come along to a drop-in and meet some charities looking to recruit volunteers. The public can find out about volunteer opportunities and meet some members face-to-face."

Some of the organisations attending the event and looking to recruit volunteers include:

  • Hearing & Sight Care
  • Birchwood Highland
  • Befrienders Caithness
  • Cycling without Age
  • CAB
  • Mary Anne’s Cottage
  • Befrienders Highland
  • Dunnet Forestry Trust
  • Wick Heritage Centre

Catherine added: "For 18 years I have been supporting individuals find volunteering opportunities and realise that volunteering benefits not only the charity and the community but it enhances peoples personal development and social networks."
