One new positive test for the coronavirus registered in NHS Highland health board area; rise came as 191 fresh cases of Covid-19 were spotted across Scotland during the past 24 hours

ONE new case of Covid-19 was detected across the NHS Highland area in the past day.
The region’s cumulative number of confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic rose from 5132 to 5133 when the latest daily figures were released at 2pm on Friday.
There were 191 newly-confirmed cases of Covid-19 across Scotland in the past 24 hours, representing 1.1 per cent of all tests carried out during that period.
Sixty-seven people were receiving treatment for the virus in Scottish hospitals last night – down three from Thursday.
Of those, nine were in intensive care. This was also down three on the same point 24 hours earlier.
And no new deaths were recorded among people who had tested positive in the previous 28 days.
Elsewhere in the north of Scotland there were no new cases of the virus in NHS Shetland, NHS Orkney or NHS Eileanan Siar.
Twenty-three new positive tests were detected across NHS Grampian, for a running tally of 14,975.
And the NHS Tayside figure increased by five, to take the overall total to 14,681.
There have now been 226,052 confirmed cases of the virus across Scotland since the pandemic began,
More than 2.8 million Scots have now received their first vaccination injection, while almost 1.25 million have had their second.
