Number of confirmed coronavirus cases rises by 20 in NHS Highland area

There have been 20 additional confirmed coronavirus cases in the NHS Highland area in the past 24 hours, new figures have shown.

The new cases take the tally for the NHS Highland area since the start of the pandemic to 1185.

Some 1596 people have tested positive across Scotland in the past 24 hours, taking the national total to 70,040.

And there have been 39 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive.

Elsewhere in the north, NHS Grampian had 31 new recorded cases in the past day, taking its tally to 3567.
