A first incident, reported at around 10am this morning, resulted in a 31-year-old man being taken to Caithness General Hospital for treatment following an assault and robbery in Leishman Avenue, in Wick.

A later incident also took place, where injury was caused to two people, a 32-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, at a property on Glamis Road.

Police confirmed that the man arrested has been taken to hospital, where he remains.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “Around 10am on Sunday, 19 May, 2024, we received a report a man had been assaulted and robbed in Leishman Avenue, Wick. Emergency services attended, and the 31-year-old man was taken to Caithness General Hospital.

“As officers were responding to that incident, we received a report of a further two people being injured within a property in Glamis Road.
