Nine new coronavirus cases recorded in NHS Highland area

A TOTAL of nine newly reported Covid-19 cases have been logged in the NHS Highland over the past 24 hours, figures released today reveal.

That brings the seven-day total to 113 cases and the cumulative total for the area to 4851.

Across Scotland as a whole, 484 new cases of Covid-19 were reported.

The largest health board increase in cases was in Greater Glasgow and Clyde where 161 cases were notified.

There were no new cases in the islands.

Of the 16,261 new tests for Covid-19 that reported results, 3.3% were positive

There were two new reported deaths of people who have tested positive, although the figure may be skewed by the fact that register offices are now generally closed at weekends.

A total of 461 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19

In terms of vaccinations, the Scottish Government says that 1,888,697 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and 160,038 have received their second dose.
