NHS Highland accolade for ‘role model’ Megan
A pharmacy support worker at Caithness General Hospital has been recognised in an NHS Highland staff awards scheme.
Megan Cormack from Wick won the Values in Practice (VIP) award for Openness, Honesty and Responsibility after being described as a positive and trusted role model.
She was nominated by her colleague Victoria-Lynn Watt.
The VIP awards began this year as a way to recognise, thank and celebrate the contributions of individuals and teams across NHS Highland.
Nominations are open to everyone, and any colleague or team can be recognised. There are four announcements each year, so the winners from each quarter will go forward to an annual awards ceremony.
The categories are Care and Compassion; Dignity and Respect; Openness, Honesty and Responsibility; Quality and Teamwork; and Team Award.
The nomination for Megan stated: “Megan’s open and honest approach was noted as making people feel at ease and helping others to feel more part of a team. A positive and trusted role model within her department, Megan is unafraid to ask for help when required and happy to receive feedback.
“She is dedicated to improving not just her own skills and knowledge, but the workload of the pharmacy for the sake of patients.”
