A new date has been set for the trial of four men who were allegedly armed with baseball bats in a Wick street.

Rueben Bruce, William Miller, Alex Bruce and Steven Bruce all deny having the bats as offensive weapons in Glamis Road on April 1, 2020.

Mark MacLean has pleaded not guilty to having a chain as an offensive weapon.

Alex Bruce further denies assaulting a man by throwing a brick at him and striking a dog with a bat.

Alex and Steven Bruce also deny acting in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting threats of violence and damaging property.

Rueben Bruce (20), of Huddart Street; Miller (37), Alex Bruce (47) and MacLean (39), all of Glamis Road; and Steven Bruce (46), of Waverley Road, all Wick, had their not-guilty pleas confirmed at Wick Sheriff Court.

Their trial could not proceed because of the non-appearance of one of the accused.

It was rescheduled for August 8.
