Two people have been charged after a family of five who had been reported missing were traced.

The family, comprising three children who were understood to be with their mother and father, had last been seen in Edinburgh at about 12.30pm on Thursday.

Police said on Friday morning they had been found safe and well.

A 32-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been arrested and charged, police said.

They are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in due course.
