To celebrate 100 years of Young Farmers in Caithness the "much loved" Seed and Root Show will be making a welcome return this year.

The show will be open to present and past members and anybody else who would like to join in the fun, said the chair of Caithness District Young Farmers (CDYF), John Forbes.

He added: “A seed and root show is a competition traditionally held in autumn, after harvest, showing produce including grains, fodder crops, roots, vegetables, dairy produce and baking.”

Participants can enter in as many categories they want in the schedule listed below.

"We look forward to seeing past members, familiar and new faces getting in on the action and showing us how it’s all done," said John.

No entry forms required, just take your entries along on the day. The show will take place in the autumn but please remember seeds will have to be planted soon for the growing season.

An industrial schedule will be posted at a later date. More info can be found on the CDYF Facebook page.
