Dramatic scenes of waves crashing over Wick harbour were seen at the weekend as stormy conditions hit the county.

Caithness recorded strong south-easterly winds on Saturday and Sunday, causing large waves to batter the rocks and harbour walls.

Neil Holden captured these images of the drama as it unfolded and shared them with the John O'Groat Journal.

The wind had calmed to a degree by the start of this week, with a thaw well under way after days of freezing temperatures.
