The Scottish Branch of Morris Minor Owners Club announced the results of their 40th Anniversary Rally with two Caithness cars among the winners.

A 1957 Morris 1000 Saloon and 1968 Morris 1000 Traveller, both owned by Ken Nicol of Halkirk, took first place in their respective classes. The Traveller also took the Car of the Show Award.

Ken commented: “This is the first time that the cars have been entered into the club’s annual rally and to have the cars being top of their category was such a surprise.”

The award was even more special as Ken had recently inherited the 1957 Morris 1000 from his mother who sadly passed away earlier in the year.

Ken added: “This car has been in the family for over 64 years since it was purchased by my granny and gifted to my mum in 1966. She would have been so proud that her Moggie was a winner.”
