An argument between two men in Thurso came to a head when one of them punched the other, Wick Sheriff Court heard on Tuesday.

Lewis Milne (28) admitted the assault which occurred on the Ormlie Industrial Estate in Thurso on June 18, 2018, as well as damaging a car there.

Fiscal David Barclay said that the person on the receiving end of the single punch was Robert Harrison, who sustained a slight swelling above his right eye which didn't require medical attention.

The fiscal added that the incident had occurred after Milne, of Noble Gardens, South Shields, had "taken matters too far" during the argument, and "lashed out".

Milne also admitted smashing the window of a taxi at the scene but has since paid for the damage.

Sheriff Andrew Berry, who noted the accused's extensive record, fined him £225 on each offence – a total of £450.
