A MAN has appeared in court following a drug seizure by police at the Gills Bay ferry terminal.

James Martin Holman from Sheffield made no plea during a brief appearance in private before Sheriff Andrew Berry at Wick, on Wednesday.

Fiscal David Barclay said that Holman (54) was charged with being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug, in Caithness.

He was released on bail pending further inquiry and will make a further appearance next week.

The drugs seized by police followed the search of a vehicle at Gills and are believed to have a street value of between £10,000 and £15,000.
