A MAN has been charged following a disturbance at a house in Wick at the weekend. No further details about the incident are available at present.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "About 9.30pm on Saturday, June 13, emergency services were called to a property on Barrogill Street, Wick, regarding a disturbance.

"A 50-year-old man was taken to Caithness General Hospital and is currently undergoing medical treatment. A 61-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident."

A section of Barrogill Street was cordoned off while police officers carried out their investigation. Members of a forensic team were observed entering a building on Sunday evening around 8.30pm.

Today there was still police barrier tape around the front of the property but the street had been fully reopened to traffic.
