Man (19) dies after collapsing at RockNess

A 19-year-old man has died in hospital after collapsing at the main arena at RockNess late on Saturday night.

Alex Herriot, from Portobello, Edinburgh, was taken to the hospital tent at the music festival and stabilized before being transferred to Raigmore in Inverness.

He failed to respond to treatment and died in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police said early indications are that the man may have consumed drugs and this is one of the lines of enquiry at this stage.

A post mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death.

The young man’s next of kin have been informed. A report will be made to the procurator fiscal.
