Lyth Arts Centre looks forward to its new programme of events for 2025
Lyth Arts Centre (LAC) is looking forward to its up and coming season for 2025 in what it says will be a “landmark year ahead”.
Calvin Wilson, marketing manager at LAC, says that 2025 promises to be a vibrant and transformative year for the arts centre as it brings “bold, creative experiences and meaningful community engagement” to the far north of Scotland.
“From historic collaborations to touring theatre and family-friendly activities, our upcoming programme is set to inspire and connect audiences of all ages,” says Calvin.
“An upcoming highlight is our exciting collaboration with John O’Groats Mill Development Trust. As this historic mill prepares to reopen as a dynamic community venue and heritage visitor attraction, LAC will play an exciting role in its revival. Look out for a series of workshops, events, and a captivating exhibition all inspired by this iconic site, celebrating its legacy and future.”
The return of the Touring Community Climate Cinema will see LAC pop up in surprising venues across Caithness and north Sutherland. With thought-provoking films, carefully curated food and drink pairings, and stimulating conversations, these screenings have quickly become essential events for film lovers and climate advocates alike.
Music and theatre lovers are in for a treat as the arts venue prepares to showcase some of Scotland’s best bands and theatrical productions throughout the year.
“For the first time, we’re thrilled to present a newly commissioned children’s performance, which will tour across the north of Scotland, from Aberdeenshire to Shetland,” adds Calvin.
“Family fun can also be found throughout the year and for all ages with our new programme of activities for under-2s and their families alongside our regular creative workshops, such as Drama Drop-In and Junior Jammers. There will be plenty of opportunities to get creative during school holidays, ensuring a year filled with fun for all generations.
“And of course, no Lyth Arts Centre season would be complete without our beloved Summer Sessions, which will once again light up the Rosebank in Wick this August with unforgettable music and atmosphere.”
