Latest Covid statistics show 99 positive tests in Caithness

Ninety-nine cases of Covid-19 were detected in Caithness during the latest seven-day period recorded by Public Health Scotland.

Thurso West had 24 positive cases, while there were 19 in Caithness North West, based on tests between December 21 and 27.

Caithness North East, Wick North and Wick South each had 14 cases, while there were 10 in Thurso East and four in Caithness South.

Public Health Scotland's interactive dashboard has a map giving the number of positive cases in individual neighbourhoods, seven of which are in Caithness.

Sutherland recorded 83 positive tests over the same period.

There were 41 cases in the Sutherland South neighbourhood, 29 in Sutherland East and 13 in Sutherland North and West.

Public Health Scotland reported 1685 positive cases across the Highland local authority area during the latest seven-day period, with a seven-day rate per 100,000 population of 715.7 for the region as a whole.

The neighbourhoods with the three highest seven-day rates from December 21-27 were all in Inverness.
