Latest Covid figures show 128 positive tests in Caithness

There were 128 positive tests for Covid-19 in Caithness during the latest seven-day period recorded by Public Health Scotland.

The Thurso West neighbourhood had 29 positive cases, based on people tested between November 8 and 14.

Public Health Scotland's interactive dashboard has a map giving the number of positive cases in individual neighbourhoods, seven of which are in Caithness.

It shows that in the most recent seven-day period there were also 26 positive cases in Wick North, 22 in Wick South, 16 in Caithness North East, 13 in Caithness South and 11 each in Caithness North West and Thurso East.

The seven-day rate per 100,000 population for Wick North was 807.5, compared with a figure of 471.1 for the region as a whole.

The seven-day rate per 100,000 population for Wick South was 642.7, and for Thurso West, with a larger population, 625.8.

There were 24 cases in the Sutherland North and West neighbourhood, 21 in Sutherland South and 10 in Sutherland East.

Public Health Scotland reported 1109 positive cases across the Highland local authority area during the seven-day period.
