Keiss dog walker ‘so proud’ to represent Caithness in pet industry finals
A Keiss woman’s dog-walking business is taking the lead by reaching the finals of a UK-wide pet industry competition.
Phoebe Marker-Fairweather, who runs PMF Pets, has been named a finalist in the Best Dog Walking Business category at the Pet Industry Federation Awards 2025.
Phoebe, whose business provides dog walking and pet sitting services within a 30-minute radius of the village, is pleased to be flying the flag for the far north at the celebration.
The annual awards recognise the very best in the UK pet industry, highlighting businesses and individuals that go above and beyond for animals and their owners.
Winners of the PIF Awards will be announced on Thursday, November 6, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Stoke-on-Trent.
Phoebe said she was “thrilled” to have her work recognised on such a scale.
“To be shortlisted as one of the best dog walking businesses in the country is something I never imagined when I first started,” she said. “I’m so proud to represent our corner of Scotland.
“Looking after people’s pets is a privilege, and this recognition feels like a celebration not just of my work but of the incredible dogs and owners I support every day.”
PMF Pets has become a familiar name across Caithness, offering dog walking and pet sitting with a focus on exercise, wellbeing and enrichment.
Phoebe will be up against five other businesses across the UK in the category, and the full list of finalists can be viewed at petfederation.co.uk/pif-awards/finalists
Nigel Baker, CEO of the Pet Industry Federation, said: “The calibre and number of entries this year has been outstanding, with several categories oversubscribed.
“We are thrilled to see such a breadth of talent represented across all categories. Every business named as a finalist deserves sincere congratulations, and we look forward to celebrating with you in November when we announce the winners.”
