Pupils at Keiss and Bower primary schools took part in a range of creative activities on World Book Day 2025 – and they dressed up in literary-themed costumes to mark the occasion.

At Keiss, one of the highlights was a project in which children designed models of their favourite book characters. The day also featured a quiz and other activities to spark their imagination and deepen their love of reading.

At Bower, pupils from P4-7 took on the role of reading buddies, sharing stories with younger children. They also took part in a fun data analysis exercise, followed by maths sessions that included measuring the length and width of much-loved books.

All the children enjoyed a treasure hunt as they searched for book titles hidden in emoji clues.

Sylvie Sinclair, head teacher at both Keiss and Bower primaries, described it as a busy and action-packed day that combined learning with plenty of excitement.

She said: “It’s wonderful to celebrate events like World Book Day, which not only highlight our children’s creative talents but also encourage them to engage with books in new and enjoyable ways.”
