After the recent publication of photographs of a friendly Wick riverside robin, a young artist has revealed her talents by drawing the same bird.

Kalia Miller, who is six and goes to Castletown Primary School, was doing an online class with teacher Eswyl Fell who told her all about the little bird "who always stops to speak to people at the riverside".

Eswyl, who works two days a week, showed pictures she took herself and the photographs from the newspaper at a Google Meets online class with the children from P1 and P2.

"I told them how it almost always appears when people walk by and is so friendly," she said.

"I also mentioned how it has become a talking point in the town and helped to uplift people’s spirits during these strange times."

The children were then set a task to draw a picture of the river robin and Kalia was one of the first to complete the assignment.

Her colourful bird is even singing a song. "She is a very talented artist, who always takes great care with her work," said Eswyl.
