A collection at last month's John O’Groats Strongest Man competition raised more than £190 for charity.

Zake Muluzi, from Nairn, powered his way to victory in the 2021 contest, claiming an engraved glass trophy and £1000 prize on his debut appearance at the event.

Competitors were put to the test over seven rounds at the "end of the road" roundabout, which was cordoned off and turned into a circular arena on August 15.

Crowds were encouraged to donate via a bucket collection and a total of £191.35 was raised for Cancer Research UK.

The competition was organised by John O’Groats strongman Kevin Macgregor, with assistance from a number of local helpers.

Mr Macgregor won the socially distanced 2020 competition but was unable to compete this year because of an arm injury sustained during training several weeks before the event.
