Is Wick supermarket’s Christmas shelf display a bit too early?

A Wick supermarket proves the point that the festive season is starting earlier every year with a Christmas-themed display on its shelves on Monday (September 30).

Along several yards of shelving at Wick’s Tesco shop were seen selections of sweet treats bagged up in colourful wrappers showing Christmas trees, baubles, snowflakes and Santas galore.

With around 12 weeks to go until Christmas, the supermarket giant says that many customers like to get an “early taste” of its festive offering, and some also want to “stock up early” to help with their planning and budgeting.

Tesco says that though it doesn’t sell Christmas items all year round, customers will start to see a number of festive items in store over the coming weeks, with the range expanding into the winter months.
