A man pleaded guilty to possession of the images when he appeared at Wick Sheriff Court.

Police who searched a house in Thurso recovered a series of indecent images of children.

It led to Giles Humbert being charged on indictment with possession of the photos contrary to the Civic Government (Scotland) Act of 1982, Wick Sheriff Court was told.

He pleaded guilty.

Sheriff Andrew Berry heard that the police officers recovered a laptop, a hard drive, and two USB sticks during the raid on Humbert's home in Smith Place, Thurso, on December 16 last year.

The offences occurred between December 17, 2014 and December 16, 2020.

The case was continued until February 9 when Sheriff Berry will consider a background report before passing sentence.

Humbert has meantime been placed on the Sex Offenders' Register.

The images featuring children between the ages of four and 15, and the computer hardware, were ordered to be forfeit.
