THE Horsin Around stable girls held a charity event on Friday in aid of Red Nose Day and had a good turnout despite the weather.

Stable owner Natalie Oag said: "The girls challenge was to create a huge red nose out of cup cakes. MacDonald's Bakery in Wick donated a lovely Red Nose Day cake of stable horse Squire modelling a red nose for the centre piece of the cake."

The cake was them auctioned to raise money for the Red Nose Day charity.

Specsavers sponsored the rosettes for event and Natalie was helped by Megan Baker who she is mentoring in the Young Equestrian Leader Awards (Yela). Megan had to organise and plan the event from start to finish as part of her Yela gold awards.

The cake featured one of Natalie's stable horses called Squire.

Megan said: "I loved having the challenge of planning and organising the event throughout and feel it was a success, enjoyed by all, even down to ordering Louis Vuitton’s Specsaver glasses." Louis Vuitton is the stable girls' mascot dog.

Natalie said: "I’m so proud of Megan and all her input. Her hard work and organisation skills paid off, resulting in a lovely afternoon and great fun. And, it was all in aid of a good cause."
