NHS Highland's staff flu vaccination programme is well under way, with employees across all areas taking the opportunity to get their jab.

Dr Ken Oates, consultant in public health medicine, said: “As we approach our busiest time of year, vaccination against flu is extremely important and this is particularly true this year when reducing the level of flu will help to tackle Covid-19.

“We are asking all healthcare workers, especially those with direct patient contact, to consider the vulnerability of the people in their care and are encouraging them to get the flu vaccination.

“Delivery of the vaccine to colleagues has been slightly different this year due to physical distancing but I’m pleased to say that uptake has been excellent so far.

"The vaccination programme is continuing and I would ask any NHS Highland staff member who has yet to be vaccinated to please take the opportunity to get it done. This will protect their patients, their family and themselves.”
