Churches in Wick are inviting local primary-aged youngsters to enjoy an afternoon of outdoor activities with a Highland Games theme during the last week of the school holidays.

The ongoing Covid-19 restrictions mean Pulteneytown and Thrumster Church of Scotland is unable to hold its popular holiday club indoors. However, it is working with Wick and Keiss Baptist Church to host a Highland Games afternoon for children going into primary classes 2-7.

It will take place on Wednesday, August 11, between 2pm and 4pm at Wick's Bignold Park.

The Rev Andrew Barrie, minister of Pulteneytown and Thrumster Church, said: "We know how much local families enjoy being part of our yearly holiday club. While we can't go back to normal this year, we wanted to do something fun for local children before they go back to school."

The organising team asks that registration is completed by 5pm on Friday, August 6, via an online form. Further details can be found on posters around the town, on the Wick Baptist Church or Pulteneytown and Thrumster Church Facebook pages, or at www.pulteneytownchurch.org.uk
