Highland Council has today announced it is extending the renewal period for brown bin permits until Friday, August 6.

The local authority has experienced ICT issues over the past few days, some of which affected online forms.

Highland Council understands that this prevented some customers from renewing their brown bins online over the weekend and a decision was taken today to extend the deadline from August 2 to August 6.

Customers who have not yet been able to renew their permits now have until Friday (August 6) to ensure delivery in time for the first collections of the new service year on September 1.

Highland Council apologises for any inconvenience caused. Garden Bin permits can be purchased online at www.highland.gov.uk/gardenwaste
