Hampers full of tasty treats have been delivered to the Scottish Ambulance Service teams at Wick and Thurso as an expression of gratitude from Wick Academy's under-17 squad.

Players and coaches said they wanted to thank the ambulance crews based in both towns for all their hard work during the coronavirus crisis.

Alan Mathieson and Michael Steven delivered the hamper for the Wick ambulance station, keeping to social distancing rules, while their U17 team-mates Lewis Gallagher and William Cannop did the honours in Thurso.

A club statement said: "We would like to thank not only the Scottish Ambulance Service for all their hard work but all key workers who have worked extremely hard throughout these difficult times. A big thank you to you all."
