A young Halkirk driver was found in possession of cannabis when he was stopped by police.
Officers who spoke to Jack Ross (21) in Martha Terrace, Wick, on October 4 last year, also discovered he didn't have insurance cover.
Ross, of Church Lane, Halkirk, pleaded guilty at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday, and was fined £200.
He also incurred six penalty points.
The small amount of cannabis, weighing 1.7gms, was said to be valued at £15.
