Growth and digital recognised at Highland Business Awards
The prestigious Highland Business Awards is open for entries and there is a fantastic range of categories so every business should be able to enter.
Each year, judges must make the hard decision of choosing one winner for each category which is no small feat, considering the talent and diversity of business in the region.
The Global Growth Award is a great barometer of the success Highland companies enjoy overseas and will go to a business that is achieving commercial success by developing its activity in overseas markets, whether for the first time or as part of ongoing international expansion plans. Organisations are invited to nominate themselves or they may nominate another business.
This award is being sponsored by Rathbones Investment Management.
Ramsay Wilson, client development director commented: “Rathbones are delighted to be sponsoring the Global Growth category of the Highland Business Awards.
“With such a dynamic business environment in the region, we are proud to support the entrepreneurial spirit of so many successful businesses in the area. Since our founding in 1742, we have established a long-standing legacy of supporting entrepreneurs and multi-generational family-run firms across the country.”
Another category making a return at this year’s ceremony is the Digital Initiative Award. This will go to a business that has introduced new digital activity to drive growth in its operation and change how it delivers value to its customers. Organisations are invited to nominate themselves or they may nominate another business.
A sponsorship opportunity for the Digital Initiative Award is available.
Paula Nicol, deputy chief executive of organisers Inverness Chamber of Commerce said: “During Covid, digital technology helped many companies to diversify and adapt their businesses to the exceptional circumstances we all found ourselves in.
“With the pace of new developments, we’re now seeing organisations harnessing the latest technologies both to innovate and grow their business and to better support their customers. Last year’s winner, Inverness Taxis, was a prime example, and their unique SafeKab app has positioned them as leaders in their field.
“This is always a fascinating category for the judging panel, who are looking forward to seeing how Highland businesses continue to stand out from the crowd through digital innovation.”
The Highland Business Awards will take place at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness, on Friday, September 27, and are the climax of Highland Business Week 2024 which runs from Monday, September 23, to Friday, September 27.
The busy programme of events, networking opportunities and seminars includes the Highland Spotlight business exhibition at the Macdonald Drumossie Hotel on Tuesday, September 24. More than two thirds of the stands have now been reserved for the Highlands’ biggest dedicated business-to-business exhibition.
