More cases of coronavirus confirmed in the Highlands

THREE more cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the Highlands – as the number of Scottish people testing positive for Covid-19 rose to 195.

There are now five confirmed cases across the NHS Highland area and 26 in neighbouring Grampian.

Elsewhere, the worst affected health board areas in Scotland are Greater Glasgow & Clyde (49) and Lothian (30).

Other affected areas include Ayrshire and Arran (6), Borders (7), Dumfries and Galloway (1), Fife (7), Forth Valley (12), Lanarkshire (21), Shetland (11) and Tayside (20).

Two people diagnosed with the virus in Scotland have since died.

Almost 5150 tests had been carried out by 9am on Tuesday morning, with 5051 returned as being negative.
