Five new cases of Covid-19 coronavirus diagnosed in NHS Highland area

A further five cases of Covid-19 have been diagnosed in the NHS Highland area, bringing the cumulative total for the region to 5185.

No new cases were recorded in the Western Isles, Shetland or the Orkneys.

Nationally there were a further 394 diagnoses in the latest 24-hour period.

That equated to 1.6 per cent of tests taken.

No new deaths were recorded of people with a recent positive test of Covid-19.

Four people were in intensive care yesterday with the virus, the same number as yesterday.

A total of 70 people were in hospital with recently confirmed coronavirus, a rise of eight from the previous day.

NHS Grampian today had 20 new cases of Covid-19 while NHS Tayside had 13 new cases.

A total of 3,051,383 people have now received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 1,704,388 have received their second dose.
