ScotRail services will be hit on six consecutive Sundays.

SIGNALLING system faults have caused the cancellation of five Highland trains today, September 2.

The rail operator has cited faults with the signalling system as the reason for four of the cancellations, with one other service cancelled due to a “fault on the train”.

The cancelled services are:

• 10:41 Inverness to Wick due 14:56

• 10:56 Inverness to Kyle Of Lochalsh due 13:35

• 12:06 Kyle Of Lochalsh to Inverness due 14:42

• 12:45 Dingwall to Inverness due 13:21

• 16:00 Wick to Inverness due 20:14

Speaking on the first three cancellations, ScotRail’s Journey Check website said: “Due to very limited replacement road transport being secured, passengers are advised to consider making their own arrangements.

“Please use the help point or speak to a member of staff for any further information.”
