Fire breaks out in boat's engine room at Scrabster

THREE fire crews rushed to a fire which broke out on board a vessel at Scrabster Harbour

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed crews attended the scene when a blaze occurred in the engine room of a vessel at the harbour.

Two fire crews from Thurso and one from Wick received an emergency call at 12.05pm and drove to the port.

An SFRS spokesman reported that the fire was quickly extinguished.

He said: "Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet was used by crew members to extinguish the fire."
