Farmhouse fire at Keiss

Two fire engines were called out to tackle a blaze which was discovered at the farmhouse, Keiss Mains, this morning.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 7.59am on Friday, April 16, to reports of a fire affecting a two-storey farmhouse and an adjoining property north of Wick.

"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene, where crews remain as they dampen down the building. There are no reported casualties."

The last fire engine was seen heading back into Wick around 11.30am.

Meanwhile a police spokesperson stated: “Around 12.30pm today, Friday, April 16, 2021, police and fire service attended a report of fire at Keiss Mains farmhouse, near Wick.

“SFRS extinguished the fire and there was no-one injured as a result.”

No further information was available at the time.
