Estrella set for world’s shortest street gig
ESTRELLA have played on some big stages during their career but none as small as they will be performing on in Wick later this month.
The Thurso band will be performing tracks from their debut album, Come Out to Play, at Ebenezer Place in Wick on Friday, June 22.
The Guinness Book of World Records declared it the world’s shortest street in 2006 and the band will play a 15-minute set on the pavement which only measures 6ft 9 inches in length.
Lead guitarist Luke Gunn said it was his brother, Paul, lead singer in the band, who came up with the idea.
“Paul writes most of our songs and he is always the one that comes up with ideas for different places to gig,” he said.
“In doing this gig we are also hoping to set our own world record as the largest acoustic band to play a gig on the world’s shortest street – I don’t think many more people would fit within the confines of Ebenezer Place but there lies the challenge!”
After their gig at Ebenezer Place, which is just outside Mackays Hotel, Estrella will be performing at the Newmarket Bar in Thurso on Saturday, June 23.
