Wick High School sent out a "big congratulations" to last year’s S3 John Muir Group who finally received their certificates after completing the course.

Kirsten Foubister also achieved her certificate but was not in the photo. The barrel sign was a recent gift from the school's Parent Council.

The pupils were studying their environment during what was a very challenging year due to lockdowns and online classes.

John Muir Awards encourage people of all backgrounds to connect with, enjoy and care for wild places. The awards are inclusive, accessible and non-competitive, though should challenge each participant. They also encourage awareness and responsibility for the natural environment through "a structured yet adaptable scheme, in a spirit of fun, adventure and exploration".
