It was "yee-haws" and "howdy partners" all the way as the Caithness branch of disabilities charity Enable held a country and western buffet dance.

The event was staged at the Royal British Legion club in Thurso and a mighty fine time was had by all.

Around 75 helpers and carers were also in attendance, and local band Cover2Cover had the cowboys and cowgirls whooping and dancing with glee.

A fancy-dress contest was held to see who had arrived looking like the most authentic cowboy home on the Thurso range.

For the men, Shane Thomson took the honours with Daniel Mackay and Richard Miller second and third respectively.

Claire Madden was first for the ladies, with Charlene Wilkinson the runner-up and Patricia Thomson third.
