THE common consensus was that Sunday’s Easter Egg Adventure Day held at Thrumster House had been an overwhelming success.

The mix of fun and education put together by countryside ranger Marina Swanson delighted all who attended the afternoon event.

She said: “The theme is environmental and it’s about trying to raise awareness of the different kinds of eggs that are found in nature.”

Marina had taken along various examples of eggs commonly found on Caithness beaches and explained what species they came from.

Over 60 people attended the High Life Highland event and shouts of “I found an eggy-weg” resounded throughout the woods.

Catherine MacLeod, from Thrumster House, said: “We were delighted to provide the rangers for their Easter egg hunt day and it was great to see so many with their children and dogs, enjoying the sunshine and walks in the woods.”
