Dress down day at Thurso High raises cash

A special fundraising day at Thurso High School (THS) raised over £700 for charity.

The S6 fundraising committee of THS held a fundraising day in aid of the local branch of the Samaritans on Thursday (October 7). Pupils who wished to could dress down for the day and pay a pound at registration towards the charity.

Other activities held included a bake sale, which is always popular, as well as a Guess the Teddy’s birthday and Guess the Sweeties in the Jar.

A THS spokesperson said: "There was a lovely buzz about the school as the events took place. A magnificent sum of £700.02 was raised."
