Tanya Sutherland from Thurso Bay Holidays met up with members from a local multiple sclerosis support group, the Wilma Rosie Memorial Fund, to hand over a cheque for £60.

The money was collected from loose change that had been found when staff were cleaning the holiday homes. A total of £28.05 was raised from this and Thurso Bay Holidays doubled it up to £60.

The group members meet up every Tuesday in the rugby club between 2pm and 4pm. They are there to welcome anyone suffering from or caring for someone with multiple sclerosis and give them support through chat and cups of tea and cake. Louise Wilson is always on hand to provide massage therapy to anyone who wishes it. If anyone is interested they can just pop along on a Tuesday.

Thurso Bay Holidays has 10 mobile holiday homes based on the Thurso Bay Caravan and Camping Park and a three-bedroomed apartment in town that are available for self-catering holidays.

Tanya said that as well as the loose change all sorts of things get left behind and they like to ensure that if possible nothing goes to waste. "We are often donating any of the food that’s left to either the local food bank or Stepping Stones," she said. "Also sometimes clothing or other items are left and these get donated to the local charity shops."
